Data collection and usage
What data do we collect and how do we use it?
When you interact with our Site, Web Extension, Mobile App, and/or Social Media Accounts, we collect data that could be used to identify you, hereafter referred to as Personal Data. Some of the data we collect is stored in a manner that cannot be linked back to you, hereafter referred to as Non-Personal Data.
Personally Identifiable Information
In order to invite users for various events such as beta-testing new features, we will invite users to voluntarily provide email addresses or social media handles through our various Social Media Accounts to be notified of such events that may be relevant to them. We will NEVER sell or distribute your email to marketing or advertising agencies (and will only share to 3rd parties in very limited instances, see Does Inkah share my data?).
In the case of our Mobile App, we will use your email to authenticate login through gmail. This email is logged on our server in order to facilitate login via OAuth 2.0 and for debugging purposes. If you log in to Inkah using Google, we will collect your email address, name, and assign you a unique user id to synchronize your data and enable you to log in using different devices.
Personal Communications
Personal communications includes all forms of communication between Inkah and users. This can include through our internal emails and social media channels we are active in supporting (Instagram, Reddit, and Discord). Emails between Inkah and users will be kept confidential. We use any data collected from user interactions for internal purposes, such as finding and fixing bugs. Additionally, data from interactions collected on our publicly facing social media channels is used to garner feedback from our users and consequently update and improve our offerings.
User Activity
This is data related to the manner in which you use the Site, Web Extension, and/or Social Media Accounts. For example, we will know how many users access a specific page on the Site and which links they clicked on.
We will also collect anonymized Non-Personal Data from the Web Extension that gives us insights about how users interact with the Extension such as how many words you save and what settings you use for Inkah. We use this aggregated data to better understand and optimize the Site and user experience of the Web Extension.
For the Mobile App, anonymized Non-Personal Data related to the way you use the app (navigating between different screens, tapping on buttons, etc.) are collected for observing app performance and crashes to help us diagnose technical issues within the Mobile App.
Website Content
With respect to the Web Extension, we collect limited data from the websites you visit while the Extension is enabled such as text and words that are bookmarked for the target language and the URL of the website. This data is anonymized and used to help us improve your experience using Inkah, such as to debug missing definitions in our dictionary and identify trending words in the target language to improve our dictionary. Our extension is blocked from accessing text in read-only and text input fields (that could contain passwords or credit card numbers for example). Additionally, our extension only collects text data in the target language you have selected.
Data access and disclosure

-
…we need to do so in connection with a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, reorganization, sale of some or all of our assets or stock, public offering of securities, or steps in consideration of such activities (e.g., due diligence). If you are under the age of 13, please do not submit any personal data through the Site, Web Extension, and/or Social Media Accounts. We encourage parents, legal guardians and educators to monitor their minors’ internet usage and to help enforce this Policy by instructing their children never to provide personal data through the Site, Service, and/or Software without their permission. laws applicable to us and you.
We will, however, always maintain our commitment to respect your privacy. If you disagree with any changes in this Policy and do not wish your data to be subject to it, you will need to uninstall our Web Extension and/or Mobile App.
